The Elementary School Program offers information and alternative solutions while encouraging students to explore the issues and suggest possibilities for fighting hunger and ensuring a healthy young life.
The Hunger 101 Elementary School Program provides an interactive flexible multi-session curriculum correlated with the AIMS guidelines. It introduces issues of food insecurity, hunger, poverty, and healthy nutrition while increasing awareness and empowerment to help eliminate hunger in our community.
Only through information and knowledge can we even begin to eliminate poverty, food insecurity, and hunger. Hunger 101 strives to increase public awareness of hunger and poverty in Arizona and nationwide by:
- Educating children and adults to the realities of hunger, poverty, and food insecurity.
- Starting conversations about poverty and hunger.
- Empowering people to participate in solutions to eliminate food insecurity, hunger, and poverty.
- Spurring people of all ages to take action to fight food insecurity, hunger, and poverty.
Each Hunger 101 program and presentation is tailored for a specific age group, from young children to adults of all ages.
