Youth Farm Project Announces Two Upcoming Programs

The Community Food Bank’s Youth Farm Project announces two upcoming programs. They are the Youth Farm Project’s Summer Youth Street Team and the 2010 Fall Youth Apprentice Program.

Youth Farm Project’s Summer Street Team: This program is a three-week intensive exploration of our community’s food systems. Street Team participants will navigate issues of hunger, nutritional poverty and food security in our community, while also investigating sustainable agriculture and local food resources as a way to build healthy communities. Participants will take field trips to visit local farms, backyard gardens, grocery stores, soup kitchens and other organizations, as well as participate in a community-wide event at the end of the program

Program dates are June 28th though July 16th, Monday –Friday. Street Team members will receive a $200 stipend. The program is seeking youth15 to 20 years of age.
