Maximize Participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – SNAP

Formerly know as food stamps, SNAP is the number one means by which low-income families receive the support they need to purchase nutritious food — but one-half of those who are eligible do not receive them. We will minimize the barriers to access and information that currently prevent people from receiving needed benefits. Strategy Goal: Increase Arizona state-wide SNAP participation rate to 90%
Arizona Restaurants/Retailers Participating in USDA/FNS Restaurant Meals Program: Introducing the new Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Restaurant Meals Program (SNAP formerly the Food Stamp Program) that allows disabled, elderly (age 60 and over), and homeless SNAP households to use their QUEST (EBT) cards to purchase meals from participating restaurants and retailers.
